The Way Forward For Nigeria And Its Citizens

Nigeria as a nation have over 500 tribes base on recent statistics. These over 500 tribes belongs to one nation ? wow, what a blessed nation. Nigeria has all it takes to be a developed nation, but why is Nigeria still lagging behind ? Bad government ? Lack of natural resources ? NOOOOO!!! Nigeria is facing small issues which can be corrected instantly if it’s citizen wishes. 

1.       Patriotism: Most Nigerians are not patriotic, you will always hear an American chanting “God bless America”, but all you hear from a Nigerian is “Na God go punish Nigeria”, this is not the way forward, cursing your country or government is not the way forward. Patriotism is all about emotional attachment to ones nation no matter what, but do Nigerians have this emotion ?. All Nigerians have emotions for is to build mansions and giant companies in other nations and not caring about theirs. Nigerians need to love their country if they really want to move forward.

In 2014/2015 i decided to monitor anyone who litters dirt on the ground and streets anyhow, and talk to them about it being a bad habit, unfortunately I always get cursed in return, so funny.

2.       Religious Sentiments:  A Christian don’t want to associate with a Muslim, so does a Muslim. If we don’t associate with each other because of religious differences we are not going to make it. Its common  on social networks where the Christians and Muslims call each other names, yet we are all citizens of the same nation. This is not just done. We as a nation needs to get rid of religious sentiments. The religious leaders might want to divide us with wrong interpretations of their scriptures, it is left for us to accept their wrong interpretations or deepen our knowledge more. If a Muslim or Christian commit a crime it should be blamed on the individual, but not his/her religion. If we keep blaming religion for crimes, we are creating more danger.
